First-batch Polyether Polyol Produced from Bluestar Dongda’s New Park

The first-batch products of Bluestar Dongda’s 300,000 tons/year high-performance polyether polyol project were shipped from the plant.

In 2021, May 11 marks a milestone day for Bluestar Dongda. At 2:58 p.m. on that day, the tanker full of new high-performance polyether polyol left the liquid loading platform and was delivered to the customer’s factory, winning the applause of Bluestar Dongda’s staff. The shipment of products marked a phased victory of Bluestar Dongda’s project.

Bluestar Dongda is a national high-tech enterprise and national single-champion manufacturing demonstration enterprise. It is also vice chairman unit of China Polyurethane Industry Association (CPUIA) and director unit of the Polyol Professional Committee under CPUIA. In recent years, Bluestar Dongda has continuously developed high-end products, adjusted its product structure, and maintained high growth and high profitability for many years. It has become a domestic high-end polyether manufacturer competing with multinational companies in the industry.

According to the urgent need of new technology and strategy for replacing old growth drivers with new ones, Bluestar Dongda, with the approval of ChemChina, has invested in building 300,000 tons/year new-type high-performance polyether polyol project in Zibo, Shandong Province, which was listed as a key project of Shandong Province in 2019.

From a wasteland to modern equipment, pile construction to high-quality engineering, and Typhoon Lichima to the COVID-19 epidemic, all the employees of Bluestar Dongda, with the care and support of leaders at all levels, have worked diligently, overcome difficulties and cooperated with each other to facilitate the test run of the project.

The project aims to replace old growth drivers with new ones and conduct transformation and upgrading of Bluestar Dongda. After the project reaches the production capacity, it will complement and improve the company’s product chain and lay a solid foundation for winning the competition of high-end, differentiated and customized products. To achieve more substantial economic benefits, the company will also make a big push for “production, supply, marketing, research and storage” as a whole, follow the philosophy of “science-driven development”, increase the investment in research and development and expand the market, so as to make contribution to the high-quality development of China’s polyether polyol industry.
