Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical ’s EVA Plant Launched

At 8:58 on July 14, the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) plant, which is part of the second phase of Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co. Ltd. , successfully launched operations with qualified products. As of July 20, the plant has produced two grades of EVA products, and all equipments have attained stable operation. This means that all 17 plants of the ethylene and refining expansion project , with a total capacity of production of one-million tons per year, have been put into operation. The full launch of the chemical production lines is bringing Sinochem’s Refinery-Chemicals Integration to a new level.

On the afternoon of July 20, the first shipment of EVA resin (UL00218), was officially dispatched from a warehouse of Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical. Quanzhou Petrochemical and Sinochem Petrochemical Distribution Co. Ltd.  held a ceremony to celebrate that. The two companies expected closer cooperation to steadily advance the development and production of new products, especially high-end polyolefin products, and strive to build Sinochem into a world-class chemical conglomerate.

The successful launch of Quanzhou Petrochemical’s EVA plant fills in the gap in EVA production in South China. The launch of the plant will effectively reduce the reliance of Fujian’s shoe materials market on resources from other regions, strengthen local chemical and new-material industrial chains, further boost product diversity, meet local demand for high-quality chemical products, and contribute towards economic development in Southern China.
