3,000-ton Slurry-bed Hydrogenation Reactor Supervised by Tianhua Institute Delivered

Under the supervision of Tianhua Institute-affiliated Nanjing Sanfang Chemical Equipment Supervision Co., Ltd., the 3,000-ton forged and welded slurry-bed hydrogenation reactor manufactured by China First Heavy Industries Group was completed, and passed the acceptance of all parties on June 1. It was shipped from Dalian, Liaoning Province to Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province. CCTV news client broadcast the departure of the equipment live and reported on its manufacturing.

This super equipment weighs 3,000 tons, with a length exceeding 70 meters. It is the core equipment of the 5 million t/y residual-oil hydrogenation unit for the phase-II project of Zhejiang Petrochemical’s 40 million t/y refining chemical integration program. According to the CCTV report, it is the heaviest one with the highest production capacity in the world compared with other reactors of the same type. According to the report, the successful manufacturing of the equipment has once again set a new world record for forged and welded hydrogenation reactors, marking that China’s manufacturing technology of super-large tonnage petrochemical equipment continues to lead the world. This has further demonstrated China’s technological innovation capability and the manufacturing strength of super-engineering. After the completion, the project will further optimize the structure of China’s petrochemical industry and speed up the construction of China’s seven world-class petrochemical industry bases, bolstering the vigorous development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the “Yangtze River Economic Belt.”

Nanjing Sanfang Chemical Equipment Supervision Co., Ltd. (“Nanjing Sanfang” for short), or the Quality Supervisory Center of Chemical Equipment (QSCCE), was established in 1981. Regarding the project of Zhejiang Petrochemical Company, Nanjing Sanfang, from bidding to project implementation, organized professionals to carry out the supervision throughout the process and from an all-round perspective. Especially during the epidemic, the Nanjing-based company gave full play to its advantages to dispatch supervisors to Dalian. Led by Party members, all supervisors worked on the supervision while doing a good job in the prevention and control of the epidemic. They communicated and coordinated closely with the manufacturing unit and the entrusting party, solved key problems in a timely manner, and ensured a virtuous circle of quality and progress control.

In the project, the 3,000-ton hydrogenation reactor, as the core equipment of Zhejiang Petrochemical’s refining chemical integration project, is the top priority of the supervision task. The equipment has super-large tonnage, special materials, complex structure, and other manufacturing difficulties. Therefore, from the beginning of the project to the smooth acceptance and delivery, Nanjing Sanfang strictly followed the supervision scheme, implemented process control, and carried out four-level management including unannounced inspection, finally ensuring the smooth completion of the equipment.
