ChemChina Showcases Itself at the 19th China International Chemical Industry Fair
On September 16, the 19th China International Chemical Industry Fair (ICIF China 2020), hosted by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) and co-organized by the Chemical Industry Committee under China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China National Chemical Information Center (CNCIC), was inaugurated at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. At the ICIF China 2020, ChemChina showcased itself with three focuses on the new Syngenta Group, new infrastructure and lightweight automobiles as a way to practice its philosophy of “science-driven development.”
On June 18, 2020, Syngenta Group, a new global leader in agricultural technology and innovation, was officially established. The exhibition displayed Syngenta’s strong scientific research capabilities, its new poverty alleviation model based on the MAP platform, and its green growth program.
In the new round of infrastructure construction with digitalization and intelligence as its core, chemical companies should strive to become a participant, builder and leader. Based on its advantages in materials science and focusing on the construction of intercity high-speed railways, urban rail transit systems, HV transmission infrastructure, new-energy vehicle charging piles, etc., ChemChina and its subsidiary enterprises and research institutions including Elkem Silicones, Bluestar Chengrand Institute, Zhonghao Chenguang Institute, Nantong Xingchen, Lanzhou Fiber, Bluestar Dongda, Dalian Institute, Liming Institute, Northwest Institute, North Paint & Coating Industry Research and Design Institute, and Marine Chemical Research Institute participated in ICIF China 2020, showcasing their products and technical strengths in 12 fields - fluorine resins, silicones, engineering plastics, carbon fiber, polyurethane, special electronic gas, polyether polyol, carbon, fine chemicals, special coatings, rubber seals and new-infrastructure services.
At the Fair, 28 ChemChina subsidiaries also displayed more than 100 varieties of products/services in 10 categories intended for the automobile industry, covering automobile tires, interior and exterior decoration materials, sealing materials, chasses, power systems, automobile maintenance products, anti-aging products, polymer materials, as well as test and analysis services for product performance and harmful substances. These products/services fully demonstrated ChemChina’s strategy of “upgrading the automotive industry chain through R&D of basic materials” and its development goal of “transforming from a supplier of products to a provider of integrated solutions”.
On the first day of the Fair, CPCIF president Li Shousheng and vice president Fu Xiangsheng came to ChemChina’s exhibition zone. Fan Xioasen, deputy general manager of ChemChina, briefed them about the company's latest products, technologies in the field of new chemical materials, the latest research achievements in lightweight automobiles and the newly established Syngenta Group. Li affirmed these achievements and encouraged ChemChina to strengthen the development and application of new chemical products, continuously enhance independent innovation capability, and promote the high-quality development of ChemChina and the entire chemical industry.
During the Fair, ChemChina’s exhibition zone was also visited by Bluestar chairman Hao Zhigang, CNCEC deputy general manager Kang Jianzhong, and CNCIC director Jie Yubin.
