Elkem Silicones launches two recycled silicones for labels

On April 8, Elkem Silicones?announced the launch of two additions to its SILCOLEASE range for release liners, SILCOLEASE RE POLY 11362 and SILCOLEASE RE POLY 368. The two products, now available for pre-commercial sales, are 100?percent?recycled silicones-based,?offering excellent performance and environmental friendliness.

In label production and application, release agents are primarily coated onto backing materials such as release paper and release film. They ensure moderate adhesion between the label material and the backing, allowing labels to be easily and quickly peeled off without sticking or tearing. At the same time, release agents protect the adhesive surface of the label, enhancing its stability during use.

The recycled products, developed using Elkem?Silicones'?new, patented depolymerisation technology, have a 70?percent?lower carbon footprint compared to their non-recycled counterparts, meeting growing market demand for more sustainable solutions.
